When EUDR covers pallets
What matters is how the pallet is used. A pallet that only carries or protects other goods is packing material and is not covered. A pallet sold as a product in its own right, for example by a pallet manufacturer to a customer, is in scope.
What it means for buyers
When buying pallets as a product, customers will need information on the origin of the wood and the reference number of the due diligence statement from their supplier. Details are still being clarified in European Commission guidance.
Our approach
We buy wood for our pallets only from the Slovak state forests (LESY SR), so the origin of the raw material is known. We will inform our customers about the specific EUDR documents in good time.
